This week we talk about values. What happens when your values don't align with how you are living? Do you get a bit cranky, feel disconnected and overall unhappy? Probably because you are trying to fight two opposing things. Let's say that you want to spend more time with friends and family, but you work 80 hours a week. These two things are opposite of each other and you will probably feel rushed and stressed when you do get a few moments with you friends and family. I understand that sometimes the situation does dictate the circumstance, i.e., I must work to get a project done or I can't exercise today because my kids have a play, etc. However, if you are consistently living a life opposite of your values you could be living a life of internal conflict. This could cause debits to your wellness bank account.
There are no right or wrong answers to your values. I am not telling you to quit your job or to ignore other events. Just be aware of your values and how they deposit into your wellness bank account. Your values are just that yours: they are not mine, your spouses or your friends. Have a great weekend and it is never too late to start living your values!
